To set our students up for healthy futures, it’s crucial to be well-equipped and well-informed. With the FitnessGram assessment, educators get powerful fitness data starting at the individual level. They’ll also receive lesson plans, videos, and other classroom resources to build enthusiasm for wellness and help fight obesity.

You may be surprised to learn that childhood obesity is at an all-time state high. Part of FitnessGram’s purpose is to help combat childhood obesity by improving fitness now. But it also allows us to instill values and habits that last well into adulthood.

How does the testing work?
The assessment component of FitnessGram uses five different areas of fitness as the core criteria. The goal is for students to be within the Healthy Fitness Zone in all of them. This method of testing allows for students to be targeted and worked with one-on-one rather than ranked against one another.

It’s how good your body is at taking in and using oxygen during exercise.
How it’s measured: PACER, 1-mile run, 1-mile walk.

How it’s measured: Body fat percentage, Body mass index (BMI).
